Emh v U11 A
| Under 12 'A' - Match Reports |
Today's fixture was the return game against our old club Emh A over at Brettons and yet again we could only manage to field 10boys, although having said that what a gritty performance from the boys that were there.
We decided that even with a player down from the start we weren't going too just sit back and defend all game and even though we tried to keep things as tight as possible as a unit Dagenham still managed to create chances throughout the first half. Emh are a good team who cause teams problems but yet again the boys when in this type of mood will fight like dogs for each other. With both sets of boys not wanting to give an inch the whistle goes for half time and the teams came off all square.
The boys had a deserved breather, regrouped and were asked to give their all for the last 30 minutes and were sent back out knowing that they could still win the game. With only about 5minutes gone a goalkick wasn't cleared and Emh knocked a dangerous ball into the box and Tafari who was quicker to react knocks the loose ball into the back of the net.
That could have been game over, 1nil down, ten boys, but no it wasn't, Dagenham rolled their sleeves up and continued to battle and attack at every opportunity they got.Chances came and went at both ends, sometimes good saves, great clearances or the odd shot going wide meant the game was on a knife edge.
Dagenham finally got what they deserved and the equaliser came courtesy of Calli who placed a lovely shot into the top corner. The dagenham boys were shouting for a penalty on Sadeeq but Calli wasn't waiting for the whistle to go and calmly slotted the equaliser away.
The final whistle eventually went and Dagenham came away with a result that they thoroughly deserved ,after all the hard work that they put into that performance. When the odds are sometimes stacked against them and they want to listen to what they are told these boys can achieve good things.Even though each and every boy gave their all today a special mention and MOM goes to O-J who turned up feeling as bad as a dog with tonsillitis and probably put in one of the best performances iv'e seen from him this season.
