U 10 A are in love - with goals
| Under 11 'A' - Match Reports |
Dagenham United Under 10 A v Romford Colts Under 10 A on Sunday 7th February 2010
Result 5 - 1
After weeks of cold, frosty, snowy, bog treacherous pitches and no returns for their love sick scorers out came the sunshine, flowing, passing football and lovely, lovely goals. The Romford Colts keeper's name is certainly not Valentine the way he made save after save. The opposition defence refused all but one of the home side forwards advances in the first half. 1 - 0 at the break but Nathaniel Cole now had a beauty to his name. Craig Newman was next, relishing a gorgeous finish on debut.
Now Cupid turns to Josh Fredericks, Matthew Harlow, Jamal Alanamu and Bill Stratford of the Dagenham United defence - these boys are macho, no nonsense, full on action types who refuse any fancy flousy, flowery play with the sole aim to break opposition attackers hearts. Out of the blue the whole crew turned into swashbuckling goal seekers allowing Colts a dart - and one of those lovelies of their own.
But the Daggers were determined to make this a Valentines come early. Kane Hearn ran his heart out for the cause and ensured the long, long awaited goal glut arrived in the shape of a hatrick for Ceri Lloyd. Now the only home man waiting for love is Harry Goodwin and how can this be because his shots kissed the post or warmed the goalie's hands so many times.
